Edwards (BPSEQ) Bps – seismic battery hold down for bps6, bps10, mirbps6 or mirbps10 series booster power supplies.

The Edwards BPSEQ is a seismic battery hold-down kit for BPS-series booster power supplies. Specifically, it secures the batteries inside BPS6A, BPS6AC, BPS10A, BPS10AC, MIRBPS6, and MIRBPS10 cabinets. As a result, the booster meets OSHPD pre-approval for Importance Factor 1.5 seismic anchorage.

The kit ships as two brackets. Therefore screws and mounting hardware are not included. Furthermore, the brackets bolt into existing battery cabinet pre-engineered mounting points.

Edwards BPSEQ Application

Seismic applications require certified battery restraint inside the BPS cabinet. In addition, the kit addresses California OSHPD and other AHJ seismic anchorage requirements. Therefore the brackets must be installed wherever Importance Factor 1.5 anchorage is required.

Application Notes

Approval of panel anchorage to the building structure may require local AHJ review. Specifically, structural or civil engineer review may be needed for detailed mounting weights and center-of-gravity calculations. Therefore consult Seismic Application Guide 3101676 before installation. Also, the BC-1EQ is the equivalent kit for the BC-1 external battery cabinet.
