The Notifier DS-DB is the Digital Series Distribution Board for a Digital Voice Command (DVC) system. Specifically, it routes audio between the DVC and one to four DS-AMP or DS-AMPE amplifiers. As a result, it adds digital bulk-audio evacuation capability to the DVC platform.
What the Notifier DS-DB does on a DVC system
First, the DS-DB communicates with the DVC controller across the digital audio loop (DAL). Then, it routes any of eight high-level audio inputs to any of its high-level outputs. As a result, a single board distributes audio across up to four DS-AMP or DS-AMPE channel amplifiers.
In addition, the DS-DB takes two of the 32 available DAL addresses. Therefore, it occupies a known, fixed footprint on the DVC’s digital audio loop.
