The Ditek DTK-MRJPOE is a single-channel PoE surge protector with unshielded (UTP) RJ45 in/out connectors. Specifically, it protects 10GbE Power-over-Ethernet links up to 144 W. Furthermore, it complies with IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt Type 3 and Type 4 PoE. As a result, it covers everything from 15.4 W cameras to 100 W PoE++ devices.
First, the DTK-MRJPOE uses a hybrid SAD + GDT topology. Therefore, it clamps fast transients at the gas-discharge stage and the silicon avalanche diode stage together. In addition, the protector handles all four pairs in a CAT5e / CAT6 / CAT6A cable. Specifically, the surge current rating is 20 kA per pair. As a result, the device can take multiple strikes before replacement is required.
Also, the DTK-MRJPOE installs in-line. Therefore, no special tools are required — just two RJ45 patches and an external grounding screw to the panel earth. Furthermore, the device is FDOT APL listed (#620-004-009) for transportation deployments.

Installation Note
The DTK-MRJPOE is intended for indoor or sheltered installations. Specifically, the ABS housing is not weather-rated. For outdoor or harsh-environment runs, use the DTK-MRJPOEX in its NEMA 4X enclosure. Also, for shielded (STP) cable, use the DTK-MRJPOES. As a result, the DTK-MRJPOES does not require a separate earth ground when used with shielded cable.
