Edwards EST (SIGA-PS) Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector

The Edwards SIGA-PS is an intelligent photoelectric smoke detector. It belongs to the EST Signature Series addressable line. The detector uses the light-scattering principle to sense smoke.

First, the optical chamber gathers an analog reading. Then, the on-board microprocessor digitizes that signal. Next, it compares the value to historical readings and time patterns. As a result, transient noise gets filtered out before the panel hears about it.

Important Note on Availability of the Edwards SIGA-PS

This detector has been discontinued by Edwards / EST. The direct replacement is the SIGA-PD. However, Life Safety Consultants still stocks SIGA-PS for service and like-for-like replacement work. Call to confirm current inventory and lead times.

Compatibility

The SIGA-PS works only with the Edwards Signature Loop Controller. As a result, it pairs with EST3 and similar Signature-equipped panels.

The detector requires a separate mounting base (sold separately):

• SIGA-SB / SIGA-SB4 — standard bases
• SIGA-RB / SIGA-RB4 — relay bases (1 A pilot duty at 30 VDC)
• SIGA-IB / SIGA-IB4 — fault-isolator bases for Class A circuits
• SIGA-AB4G — audible sounder base for local alarm signaling

The SIGA-PS holds UL, ULC, MEA, and CSFM listings.
