The Edwards EOL-4K7L is a 4.7K ohm supervision resistor for Controlled Releasing Circuits (CRC) and similar supervised auxiliary loops. First, it maintains line supervision on a CRC when no powered door strike or lock is connected. As a result, the panel reads “normal” instead of “open” on circuits that would otherwise be empty.
Why a CRC needs a 4.7K resistor
Edwards releasing and access-control modules supervise their output circuits with a small monitoring current. Then, that current must return through a known load. As a result, an unloaded CRC reads as a trouble condition. The EOL-4K7L provides exactly the 4.7K ohm return path the panel expects.
Where the Edwards EOL-4K7L is used
Install the EOL-4K7L at the FAR END of a supervised CRC where no electric strike or magnetic lock is wired. Specifically, this applies to spare CRC outputs, future-expansion runs, and partial installations where some doors are deferred. Furthermore, when a powered strike IS installed, the strike’s internal coil typically provides the supervisory return – check the panel manual for the specific load model.

What this product is, and is not
The EOL-4K7L is a passive electronic component. As a result, it carries no standalone UL listing. Instead, the listing flows from the parent module and panel. Therefore, do not substitute a different ohm value: the module will report a trouble.
