The fireray (5000-009) is the OEM controller back box for the FFE Fireray 5000 reflective beam smoke detector system. Specifically, it houses the system controller in a metal enclosure.
First, the installer can mount the 5000-009 either surface or semi-flush. Then conduit is brought in through knock-outs on the top and bottom of the box. As a result, wiring stays neat and code-compliant on either type of install.

Where the 5000-009 Is Used
Typically, the 5000-009 sits next to the protected area and houses the controller for up to two Fireray 5000 detector heads. In addition, the optional 5000-010 semi-flush trim plate dresses the install when the box is recessed in the wall.
Therefore, the 5000-009 is one of two enclosure choices for a Fireray 5000 system. Also, it pairs with the detector-head Uni-Box (5000-011) at the protected area side.
