Kidde/ Edwards (G4LFRF-H) Genesis Wall-mount, Low-Frequency Appliance, Red Housing, Fire Marking, Audible Only

The Edwards G4LFRF-H is a Genesis G4LF Series low-frequency wall-mount audible-only fire notification appliance. Specifically, it generates the 520 Hz tone required by NFPA 72 for many sleeping-area applications.

In addition, the housing is red with “FIRE” marking. As a result, the appliance meets the standard occupant-notification color and labeling convention.

Edwards G4LFRF-H operation

First, the appliance operates on 24 Vdc or 24 VFWR (full-wave rectified). Then, it produces the 520 Hz tone in the standard 3-3 temporal pattern. As a result, the signal meets the low-frequency intelligibility requirements for sleeping spaces.

Furthermore, the G4LFRF-H is audible only. Therefore, pair it with a separate strobe where visual notification is also required.

Mounting

The G4LFRF-H mounts to a standard 4-inch (102 mm) square electrical box with the supplied spacer. Alternatively, it mounts directly to a Genesis G4 surface-mount back box.

Availability note

This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. As a result, the replacement Kidde EG4LFRF is the current production equivalent.
