HOCHIKI (S792) 8 Channel Conventional Zone Panel

The Hochiki S792 is an 8-channel conventional zone panel module for the FireNET L@titude addressable fire alarm system. Specifically, it adds eight Class B conventional detection circuits to the L@titude chassis. As a result, the L@titude panel can serve buildings with mixed conventional and addressable detection.

Application Notice

The S792 is a PLUG-IN MODULE for the L@titude panel, not a standalone smoke detector. Therefore, do not install the S792 by itself on a ceiling. Instead, mount it inside the L@titude panel enclosure. In addition, connect conventional detectors and devices to its eight input circuits.

Circuit Configuration

Each S792 circuit is individually configurable. Specifically, the installer chooses between trigger resistor activation and short circuit activation per zone. Furthermore, each pair of adjacent circuits can be combined into a single Class A loop. As a result, the same module supports both Class B and Class A topologies.

In the L@titude programming environment, each zone contributes to cause-and-effect logic. Therefore, the S792 integrates conventional zones into the same logic engine that drives addressable points.

Mixed-System Applications

The S792 is the standard solution for retrofit and renovation jobs. For example, an existing conventional zone with legacy detectors can be preserved while the rest of the building moves to addressable. Then, the L@titude panel manages both worlds from one head-end.
