The DSC HSM2208 adds eight low-current programmable outputs to any PowerSeries Neo intrusion panel. It is a PGM output expander for security/burglary systems — not a supervised fire-alarm notification module.

Each output is open-collector and switched to ground. Specifically, every PGM is rated 50 mA maximum. As a result, the HSM2208 drives small loads such as LED indicators, relays, sirens, and external annunciators.

The module connects to the panel over the Corbus. In addition, a resettable PTC fuse protects the board in place of a replaceable fuse. Also, a built-in tamper switch reports enclosure access to the panel.

Compatible Panels

The HSM2208 works with PowerSeries Neo panels HS2016, HS2032, HS2064, and HS2128. Furthermore, PowerSeries Pro panels accept the same module.

Important Application Note

HSM2208 outputs are not supervised in the NFPA-72 sense. Therefore, do not use them as fire-alarm notification appliance circuits. For fire NACs, use a listed fire panel and listed NAC expander.
