The Notifier DS-RFM converts one DAX or DAA2 digital audio port to ST-style multi-mode fiber. Specifically, the module pairs with the DVC-EMF or DAA-XXXF amplifier on the opposite end of the run. As a result, voice-evac digital audio can travel over fiber rather than copper.
First, the DS-RFM is the remote-end multi-mode fiber module in the DS series. In addition, the DS-FM is the main-end multi-mode counterpart, and the DS-SFM serves single-mode fiber. Therefore, designers can mix wire and fiber on the same Digital Audio Loop using these modules.
Notifier DS-RFM compatibility
The fiber option modules install in the DAA2, DAX, DS-DB, and DVC. Specifically, one or two modules can be added per host device. As a result, the host device can move partially or fully onto fiber-optic communication.
A single Digital Audio Loop accepts wire, single-mode fiber, and multi-mode fiber on the same loop. In addition, the choice between DS-FM, DS-SFM, and DS-RFM depends on the run end and fiber type.
What ships with the DS-RFM
The DS-RFM ships as a single plug-in fiber option module with ST-style connectors. Furthermore, the host device retains its second port for either a second fiber module or a wire connection.
