The Potter CMXC-R-SB is the ceiling mount kit for the Federal Signal FSEX explosion-proof strobe light. First, the kit must be ordered together with an FSEX-24PMA/PMB/PMC/PMR-MOD strobe. In addition, the mount carries the same hazardous-location rating as the strobe it supports.
The bracket itself weighs 4.5 lbs. Specifically, the kit ships with four 3/4″ NPT threaded entrances for rigid conduit. Therefore, the assembly meets Type 4X, IP66, and IP69K ratings once installed correctly.
Potter CMXC-R-SB hazardous-location coverage
Together with the FSEX, the system is UL and cUL listed for hazardous areas. Specifically, it covers Class I Groups A, B Division 2 and Class I Groups C, D Divisions 1 and 2. In addition, it covers Class II Groups E, F, G Divisions 1 and 2. Also, it covers Class III Divisions 1 and 2.
As a result, the CMXC-R-SB suits oil rigs, refineries, mines, chemical plants, and similar harsh environments. Furthermore, the assembly is approved for any mounting position, including dome-up.
Mounting alternatives and ordering
Alternate FSEX mounts include the PMXC-R-SB pendant kit and the WMXC-4R-SB 90° wall mount. Also, an optional DGXC-SB dome guard protects the lens in high-impact areas. Therefore, choose the mounting kit that fits your conduit run and obstruction profile.
