The Potter MC-1000 Multi Connect Expander lets up to 63 IPA and AFC/ARC fire alarm panels share one reporting technology. In addition, it uses Potter’s P-Link communication bus. As a result, multiple panels report through a single DACT or IP communicator.
How the Potter MC-1000 Multi Connect Works
Each MC-1000 connects one host reporting panel to two client panels. Furthermore, the connection uses a 4-wire RS-485 link that is power-limited and supervised. Up to 31 MC-1000 cards may be linked to one host reporting panel. Therefore, the network can scale to 63 total panels.
The MC-1000 mounts inside the control-panel cabinet, the intelligent power supply cabinet, or the PSN-1000/E. Also, it fits the AE-2, AE-8, or AE-14 accessory enclosures. Each card mounts on the included Stacker Bracket.
Wiring and Compatibility
The MC-1000 supports Class A and Class B P-Link wiring. As a result, installers choose the wiring class that matches the site’s risk profile. Specifically, the MC-1000 works with Potter IPA Series, AFC-Series, and ARC-Series panels.
