The Protectowire ELR-HD-U is a universal end-of-line device in a fiberglass NEMA-4X enclosure. It terminates the Class B detection circuit of a Protectowire linear heat detector system. As a result, the initiating circuit stays properly supervised.
Inside the box sits the U-ELR-1 Universal End-of-Line Resistor device. Specifically, it offers field-selectable resistance values of 1K, 2.2K, 3.3K, and 4.7K ohms. Where no internal value fits, an external resistor can be added instead.
Testing and Connection
The U-ELR-1 includes quick-connect clamping terminals. Therefore, the detector fastens directly to the device. In addition, a built-in alarm test switch shorts the circuit to simulate an alarm. A separate open test switch checks for circuit opens.
