PROTECTOWIRE (PHSC-155-EPC-M) Type EPC on Msg. Wire (BOX OF 500FT)

The Protectowire PHSC-155-EPC-M is a standard digital linear heat detector on messenger wire. It carries a fixed alarm temperature of 155°F (68°C). Furthermore, the “-M” suffix means it ships wound onto a stainless steel support wire.

Messenger wire simplifies installs where mounting is difficult. Specifically, high-tensile stainless steel wire wraps the detector about once per foot. As a result, the cable can span large open areas that lack support structures.

Type EPC on Messenger Wire

The base detector uses the durable, flame-retardant EPC vinyl jacket. In addition, it offers low moisture absorption and good chemical resistance. The messenger wire then carries the detector between tensioned end points. Turnbuckles and eyebolts anchor each run.

Keep the span between turnbuckles to 250 ft (76 m) or less. Also, support the wire with intermediate fasteners every 15 to 50 ft. However, outdoor runs need closer fastener spacing for snow, ice, and wind.
