The Protectowire (PHSC-155-EPC) is a standard digital linear heat detector. It carries a fixed alarm temperature of 155°F (68°C). Furthermore, its Type EPC vinyl jacket suits interior commercial and industrial use.
This detector delivers line coverage with point sensitivity. First, two steel conductors are insulated with a heat-sensitive polymer. Then, they are twisted under spring pressure and jacketed. As a result, the conductors short at the first point to reach the rated temperature.
Type EPC Jacket
The EPC jacket is a durable, flame-retardant vinyl. Specifically, it offers low moisture absorption and good chemical resistance. In addition, it stays flexible at low temperatures. Therefore, it works well across many interior environments.
