The Potter PSN-106B is a 10-amp 24 VDC fire alarm power supply. Specifically, the switch-mode supply provides six NAC outputs in a black enclosure. Specifically, the “B” suffix indicates the black-finish cabinet. Furthermore, the PSN-106 family operates as a remote power expander or standalone supply for conventional and addressable installations.
What the Potter PSN-106B delivers
The PSN-106B provides 10.0 A continuous 24 VDC output across six NAC outputs. Then each NAC output is rated 3.0 A. As a result, all six NACs may load to their full rating with no derating required. In addition, the switch-mode design runs up to 50% more efficient than equivalent linear supplies.
Input power and battery charging
The supply accepts 120 VAC or 220 VAC universal input. Furthermore, the supply can charge sealed lead-acid batteries up to 55 AH. Also, the onboard cabinet holds up to 18 AH batteries — among the largest in its class. Therefore, sizing standby for high-NAC-current installations stays compact.
Cabinet construction
The enclosure is 18-gauge cold-rolled steel with a durable powder-coat finish. Specifically, the “B” suffix is black; the standard PSN-106 sibling is red. In addition, a key lock secures the door. Furthermore, side and top knockouts route wires neatly. Also, the layout maintains power-limited and non-power-limited separations per NFPA 70.
Common applications
The PSN-106B suits campus installations needing remote NAC expansion. Also, the supply pairs with Potter conventional and addressable FACPs as well as third-party panels. Furthermore, the black cabinet integrates into finished spaces where red enclosures would be visually obtrusive.
