The Siemens PAD-4-6A is a complete 6-amp PAD-4 power supply kit for commercial fire alarm systems. It extends notification power beyond the main control panel. Specifically, the kit includes a red enclosure (PAD-4-ENCL), a main board (PAD-4-MB), and a 170-watt power supply (FP2011-U1). Together, these parts deliver up to 6 amps at 24 VDC.
The PAD-4 provides four power-limited notification appliance circuits (NACs). Each NAC is rated at 3 amps. In addition, the circuits are field-selectable for Class A or Class B wiring. An optional PAD-4-CLSA card can add more Class A outputs.

Each PAD-4 maintains steady 24 VDC output regardless of source voltage swings. As a result, it supports longer wire runs and larger voltage drops. The unit also offers up to 3 amps of auxiliary power for devices such as door holders. Installers can program outputs for steady, ANSI Temporal 3, or Temporal 4 signaling.
For supervision, the PAD-4 monitors low AC power, battery voltage, and ground faults. Furthermore, Form C contacts report general trouble and AC-fail conditions. The on-board charger energizes batteries up to 18 AH, and the enclosure houses up to 7 AH.
Listings and applications
The PAD-4 is UL 864 9th Edition and UL 1481 Listed. It is also FM and CSFM approved, plus ADA compliant. The kit works with Siemens Fire Safety control panels in offices, hospitals, schools, and industrial sites.
