Siemens (PSX-12M) Power Supply Extender S54430-C27-A1
The Siemens (PSX-12M) is a high-current auxiliary power supply for the Desigo Modular system. It extends the main PSC-12M power supply and battery charger. Specifically, it adds another 12 amps of 24VDC power.
The PSX-12M is an addressable, microprocessor-controlled module. It reports fault conditions to the system operator interface. In addition, the Model FCM2041-U2 OI can query the supply directly. That query returns terminal-loading information, ground-fault conditions, and more.
Universal AC Input
The PSX-12M accepts AC input from 120VAC to 240VAC. No special configuration is required. Also, an off-line switch-mode converter with power-factor correction improves conducted RF emissions at low frequency.
Power Outputs
The PSX-12M delivers a full 12 amps at 24VDC. Two separate output terminals are provided. First, a power-limited terminal supplies up to 4A at 24VDC. Second, a non-power-limited terminal supplies up to 12A at 24VDC. However, the combined total must not exceed 12A. The module also connects to the system’s common 60-pin power/data bus.
Mounting and Diagnostics on the Siemens (PSX-12M)
Like the PSC-12M, each extender mounts to one of four module spaces on the back box. Alternatively, it mounts on a CAB-MP module mounting plate inside a CAB1, CAB2, or CAB3 enclosure.
Diagnostic LEDs cover six conditions. These include Power On, Module Failure, H-NET Failure, and Ground Fault. Separate LEDs also flag 24VDC 12A fail and 24VDC 4A fail. Finally, plain decimal address switches clearly show the module’s address.
