The Siemens TSM-1X is an addressable intelligent test switch module with built-in dual loop isolators. Specifically, it serves as a key-activated (T-45) momentary switch on the Device Loop Circuit (DLC) of compatible Siemens FACPs. In addition, it carries part number S54370-B7-A1 per Siemens Data Sheet 6198.
What the Siemens TSM-1X does on the loop
First, the key switch sends a momentary alarm signal to the panel when activated. Then, the panel runs the associated logic functions of the test target as if a real alarm occurred. As a result, the TSM-1X provides a valid functional test of inaccessible duct detectors and other devices without climbing into the ductwork.

Listings
The TSM-1X is UL 864, UL 2572, and UL 2017 Listed. Furthermore, it is CAN/ULC-S527 and CAN/ULC-S576 Listed under UL File S24304, Vol. 3.
Built-in dual isolation
The module includes dual built-in isolators that meet Class X (Style 7) survivability requirements. For a short on the loop, the isolators open on the affected side, and the FACP reports the fault location (in front of or behind the module). In addition, the TSM-1X supports up to 190 isolators per loop and up to 30 devices between isolators (polarity-insensitive mode).
Operating modes and configuration
The TSM-1X can be configured as a polarity-sensitive isolator or as a polarity-insensitive non-isolator. In isolator mode, the module simultaneously serves as test switch, status indicator, and isolator. For addressing and verification, technicians use the Siemens Device Programmer / Test Unit (Model DPU, P/N 500-033260) — note that the latest DPU firmware is required for X-series devices.
Typical applications
Common deployments include intelligent duct-detector test stations and hidden or inaccessible smoke detectors. Also, the TSM-1X works well as a fan-restart, drill, recall, or remote Arm/Disarm switch on Siemens Cerberus PRO and Desigo Modular systems.
