The Edwards SIGA-AB4GT is a Signature Series audible (sounder) detector base. It provides local sounder capability to Signature smoke and heat detectors, as well as carbon monoxide detectors. For CO detectors, it must be paired with a SIGA-TCDR Temporal Pattern Generator to produce the correct CO temporal code.
What the SIGA-AB4GT does
First, the detector head plugs into the AB4GT base in place of a standard mounting base. Then on alarm, the base sounder activates to provide localized notification. As a result, residents in a sleeping room or guest room hear the alarm at the source, in addition to any building-wide notification appliances.
Configuration jumpers
The base ships with field-cuttable jumpers for tone and volume. Specifically, the default tone is temporal; cut the jumper for steady tone. The default volume is high; cut the jumper for low dB output. Furthermore, the SIGA-AB4G-LF variant produces 520 Hz low-frequency sound for sleeping-room applications under modern building code revisions.
Mounting and compatibility
The SIGA-AB4GT mounts to a North American 4 in square electrical box, 2-1/8 in deep. It is compatible with Signature Series smoke detectors, heat detectors (including the SIGA-H2D), and carbon monoxide detectors. In addition, the base requires a separate 24 VDC sounder power feed routed in to the base wiring.
Selection guidance
Use SIGA-AB4GT when CO detector sounder support is required. Use the SIGA-AB4G when only fire detector sounder support is needed. Use the SIGA-AB4G-LF for low-frequency sleeping-room applications.
