The Edwards SIGA-H2D is an intelligent fixed-temperature heat detector with dual reporting. It combines a fixed 135 °F (57.2 °C) alarm threshold with a separately programmable Emergency reporting threshold. Per Edwards datasheet E85001-0666, the SIGA-H2D does NOT have a rate-of-rise function — use the SIGA-HRS for fixed plus rate-of-rise operation.
How the Edwards SIGA-H2D works
First, a thermistor monitors air temperature around the detector. Then the detector electronics analyze the data and generate an alarm at 135 °F per UL 521. In addition, a programmable Emergency threshold between 35 °F and 125 °F (1.7 °C to 51.7 °C) in 5 °F increments allows separate reporting of heat warnings or freeze warnings.
Where the Emergency threshold matters
The Emergency reporting feature is designed for NFPA 72 2016 Section 21.5 evacuation elevator lobbies. Furthermore, it works in machine rooms and other spaces sensitive to temperature extremes. For sprinkler or water mist protected areas, the Emergency threshold can warn of freezing conditions before sprinkler pipes burst.

Operating voltage: 15.20 to 19.95 VDC. Normal operating current: 51 µA. Alarm current: 68 µA. Fixed temperature alarm point: 135 °F (57.2 °C); actual alarm range 129 to 141 °F. Maximum spacing: 50 ft (15.2 m) centers.
Compatibility
Signature Series heat detectors are compatible only with the Signature loop controllers in EST3 and EST3x. In addition, the SIGA-H2D mounts to standard Signature bases: SIGA-SB, SIGA-SB4, SIGA-RB, SIGA-RB4, SIGA-IB, SIGA-IB4, SIGA-AB4G, and SIGA-AB4GT.
