The Simplex 4098-9019 is an addressable reflective beam smoke detector system. It uses an auto-aligning infrared beam to detect smoke. As a result, it protects large, open areas with high ceilings.
Point detectors struggle in atriums, warehouses, and gymnasiums. However, a beam detector covers these spaces from wall to wall. The 4098-9019 communicates over IDNet. Therefore, it reports as an addressable device on the panel.
Simplex 4098-9019 System Components
The system ships with three main parts. First, a 4098-9020 controller mounts at ground level for easy service. Then, a 5000-031 detector head projects the beam. Finally, a 23901 prism reflector returns it. In addition, one controller can support up to two detector heads.
