The Simplex 4098-9403 is a 200°F fixed-temperature electronic heat detector. It is used on two-wire conventional fire alarm initiating device circuits. The catalog number is 0677006.
First, the 4098-9403 uses a fast-response thermistor element. As a result, its thermal lag is minimal — the detector is inherently rate-compensated. Then, when the thermistor reaches 200°F (93°C), the detector latches into alarm.
In addition, the design is fully solid-state and epoxy-encapsulated. Therefore, the detector self-restores after the alarm condition clears. No mechanical reset is required.

Installation Notes
The 4098-9403 is a two-wire direct-connect device. Therefore, no separate base is required. Furthermore, a mechanical adapter plate is supplied for ceiling or wall mounting. Wiring attaches directly to the detector’s screw terminals.
Panel Compatibility
The Simplex 4098-9403 is compatible with Simplex conventional 2-wire IDCs. Specifically, it works with the 4006, 4010, 4100, 4100U, and other Simplex panels offering 2-wire IDC support.
