Simplex (6310-9239) 12″ Clock Sync Wired Replacement Motor Movement

The American Time ASKIT02-1 is a wired-sync motor movement kit. It retrofits into a 12-inch round Simplex backplate, replacing the original Simplex 6310-9239 motor. As a result, you can keep the existing Simplex clock body and dial in service.

The ASKIT02-1 is an aftermarket replacement made by American Time. However, it is not a genuine Simplex part. Verify wiring before installing — the original Simplex movement and the American Time motor share the same backplate but use different wire taps.

How the ASKIT02-1 Replaces the Simplex Motor

First, remove the old 6310-9239 motor from the 12-inch Simplex backplate. Then mount the ASKIT02-1 in its place. Finally, wire the 24VAC sync feed and select the correction protocol.

The motor supports two common wired-sync correction protocols. Specifically, it accepts the 59-minute Simplex protocol and the 58-minute National Time / Rauland / Dukane protocol. Therefore, one part covers most legacy bell-system retrofits.
