First, modern codes call for a 520 Hz signal in many sleeping areas. This low-frequency tone wakes sleeping occupants more effectively. Therefore, the sounder suits hotels, dormitories, and apartments.
Specifically, each sounder produces a 520 Hz ± 10% square-wave tone. In addition, it offers Temp 3, Temp 4, coded, and continuous tone patterns. As a result, it meets NFPA 72 and NFPA 720 low-frequency requirements.
