The Viking VK506 is an early suppression fast response (ESFR) pendent storage sprinkler. It has a 22.4 K-factor. Also, it carries a 165°F (74°C) rating with a brass finish. Viking designs it to suppress high-challenge storage fires.

ESFR sprinklers react quickly and deliver a large, focused water volume. First, the glass bulb senses fire heat. Then the sprinkler discharges through its large 22.4K orifice. As a result, it can suppress severe storage fires at the ceiling.
Applications and listings
Viking intends the VK506 for palletized, solid-pile, and rack storage protection. In addition, the larger K-factor allows ESFR performance at lower end-head pressures. Viking lists it as cULus Listed and FM Approved. Therefore, it suits NFPA 13 storage designs.
