The Altronix VR10 is a 10A step-down voltage regulator. It converts a 24VDC input into a regulated 5VDC or 12VDC selectable output.
First, feed the VR10 from any 24VDC source. Then select the desired output: 5VDC at up to 10A, or 12VDC at up to 10A. As a result, one upstream 24VDC supply can serve mixed-voltage loads on the same panel.
In addition, the VR10 has a unique stackable design via pin connector. Therefore, it piggybacks onto an Altronix PDS8 or ACMS8 distribution board without taking extra enclosure space. Furthermore, this gives 12VDC and 24VDC simultaneously on a single footprint.

Stackable Sub-Assembly Use
The VR10 was designed to pair with Altronix dual-input distribution boards. For example, pair it with the PDS8 (8 fused outputs at 3A) or PDS8CB (8 PTC outputs at 2A). Alternatively, pair it with the ACMS8 / ACMS12 series for individually-triggered access power. As a result, each output is switch-selectable to follow either the upstream 24VDC bus or the VR10’s regulated 12VDC (or 5VDC) bus.
Application Notes
The VR10 is a sub-assembly voltage regulator board. The Altronix data sheet does not list UL 864, UL 294, or NFPA 72 agency approvals for the VR10 itself. Therefore, listings of the complete assembly flow from the host power supply and the host distribution board, not from the VR10. In a fire-alarm application, the upstream UL 864 listed supply (for example FireSwitch108) carries the agency listing — not this regulator board.
