The CWSI CWSI-OM-1S is an omnidirectional antenna for the CWSI wireless fire alarm system. First, the antenna mounts to a CWSI panel, repeater, or radio module. Then it provides 360-degree RF coverage across the protected area.
Specifically, the CWSI-OM-1S operates across the 902-928 MHz ISM band. In addition, it offers 3 dBi of gain on a 50-ohm impedance feed. As a result, signal radiation pattern stays uniform around the vertical axis.
Where the CWSI CWSI-OM-1S fits
Use the CWSI-OM-1S as the standard supplied antenna on CWSI radio nodes. For example, it suits open ceiling installs in offices, warehouses, schools, and healthcare facilities. However, dense reinforced concrete or large metal obstructions may require a repeater rather than a higher-gain antenna.
Verified specifications
First, the operating frequency band spans 902 to 928 MHz. Specifically, this is the unlicensed ISM band the CWSI FHSS radio uses. In addition, antenna gain is 3 dBi. Furthermore, impedance is 50 ohms. Also operating temperature spans -20 °C to +70 °C.
Form factor
The CWSI-OM-1S is a compact stick-style antenna at roughly 6.25 inches long. In addition, it weighs only 0.15 lb. Therefore, it adds minimal load to the connector on the host radio.
Listings notes
The CWSI wireless fire alarm system itself carries UL and FM listings at the system level. However, a passive RF antenna does NOT carry stand-alone UL fire-alarm listings. Furthermore, system performance is certified with this specific antenna, so do not substitute.
