The Simplex 2098-9737 is a DPDT auxiliary relay module rated 3 A for fire alarm control applications. First, it provides two sets of dry contacts that switch on alarm. As a result, the relay can drive external loads such as HVAC shutdown, door release, fan control, or auxiliary notification circuits.
Specifically, the relay uses a Double Pole Double Throw contact arrangement. In addition, it carries a 3 A rating at 28 VDC (power-limited, with external 24 VDC) and a UL-listed 3 A at 120 VAC (non-power-limited) for transient-suppressed loads.
Where the Simplex 2098-9737 fits
The 2098-9737 mounts either remotely in an electrical box or directly in a compatible Simplex sensor base electrical box. Then a host Simplex fire alarm control panel drives the relay through the field wiring.
Typical applications include HVAC fan shutdown, magnetic door holder release, and elevator recall interface. However, contacts only — this is a relay, not a smart addressable input. As a result, the host panel performs the actual logic and reporting.
