The Simplex 4100-9601 is a MINIPLEX local mode transponder for Simplex 4100ES fire alarm systems. Specifically, it adds remote points to a host panel. As a result, you extend system capacity without a second full panel.
Simplex 4100-9601 Local Mode Transponder Overview
The transponder connects to a host 4100ES panel using Simplex RUI communications. This low-current link carries data and audio up to 2500 ft (762 m). Therefore, you can place the transponder remotely from the main panel.
This model uses a local mode transponder module in place of the basic module. As a result, it keeps protecting its area if it loses contact with the host. Then connected initiating devices can still report an alarm locally.
Local Mode Operation
During local mode, TrueAlarm sensors alarm at their least sensitive threshold. For example, photoelectric sensors alarm at 3.7%/ft obscuration. Heat sensors alarm at a fixed 135 deg F (57 deg C).
