The Genesis 55021004 is a 16 AWG, 1-pair solid power-limited fire alarm cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries an NYC FDNY Certificate of Approval (COA) for installation in New York City. As a result, this cable satisfies New York City’s municipal fire alarm wiring requirements. Furthermore, the cable ships on a 1000-foot reel with a red PVC jacket.

Installation Notes for Genesis 55021004

First, the NYC FDNY COA is required for new fire alarm work in New York City. Therefore, NYC installers must verify the cable COA before submitting plans. Then, the FPLR rating allows vertical riser installation per NEC Article 760. However, this cable is NOT plenum-rated. As a result, do not install it in air-handling spaces. For NYC plenum applications, consult the matching 555xxxxx plenum SKUs.
