The Edwards EST SIGA-IB is an advanced Signature Series detector mounting base that combines two critical functions: a built-in short-circuit isolator and an integrated circulation fan. When a short circuit occurs on the Signature Loop Controller (SLC), the SIGA-IB automatically isolates the fault to a single device, preventing the entire loop from going offline and ensuring the rest of the system remains fully operational.
In addition to its isolation capability, the SIGA-IB includes a small fan that promotes air movement around the detector head, improving smoke entry and detection sensitivity in areas with limited air circulation. This makes the SIGA-IB ideal for use in plenum spaces, high-ceiling environments, or locations where code or system design requires individual device isolation.
