The Gentex GX93-PR is a 12/24 VDC mini-horn from the Gentex GX93 Series with a red faceplate and plain (no lettering) bezel. It produces a 3100 Hz tone in continuous or Temporal 3 pattern, selectable by jumper. As a result, the GX93-PR satisfies NFPA 72 audible-notification signaling in tight-space applications. Furthermore, it draws very low current — typically 18 mA or less at 24 VDC in Temporal 3.

Gentex GX93-PR Specifications

The GX93-PR operates over 8–33 VDC. In addition, it works on both filtered DC and full-wave-rectified power. Also, a jumper selects continuous tone or Temporal 3 evacuation pattern. Furthermore, the mini-horn produces a peak sound output of 90 dBA or greater as measured in an anechoic chamber.

Per the Gentex datasheet, operating current at the Temporal 3 setting is 18 mA or less at 24 VDC and 13 mA or less at 12 VDC. As a result, the GX93-PR is well-suited to systems where NAC current budget is tight. Unit dimensions are 4.48″ H × 2.84″ W × 0.5″ D. Therefore, the slim profile suits stairwells, mechanical rooms, and other space-constrained zones.

Installation Notes for Gentex GX93-PR

First, the GX93-PR mounts to a standard 2-1/8″ deep single-gang back box. Then, terminal blocks accept 12–18 AWG wire. Also, separate in/out terminals support T-tapping and end-of-line supervision. In addition, the unit is polarized for electrical supervision per NFPA 72. Furthermore, the GX93 Series is listed for use with both filtered and unfiltered (full-wave-rectified) power. However, the GX93-PR is for indoor use only — not listed for outdoor or wet locations. As a result, the appliance suits indoor commercial corridors, offices, restrooms, and similar conditioned spaces.
