The Edwards MN-BRKT3 is a mounting bracket for Edwards MNEC communications modules inside APS6A and APS10A Auxiliary Power Supply enclosures. First, it secures one or more MNEC modules to the inside of the APS cabinet. As a result, the MNEC functions live in the same enclosure as the power supply, simplifying the overall install footprint.
This is a passive mounting bracket. Specifically, the Edwards MN-BRKT3 has no electrical interface, no wiring, and no electronic components. Therefore, no standalone UL listing applies – agency listings flow from the parent APS power supply and the mounted MNEC modules.
Compatible Modules
The Edwards MN-BRKT3 supports three primary MNEC modules. First, it mounts the MN-FVPN Fire VoIP encoder/decoder for IP-based audio between FireWorks nodes. Second, it mounts the MN-COM1S MNEC Serial Communications/LAN interface (TCP/IP to RS-232). Third, it mounts the MN-NETSW1 four-port Ethernet switch with multimode fiber.
Application
Use the Edwards MN-BRKT3 when an EST3 control panel needs MNEC features but lacks internal space for the MN-BRKT1 inside the main control panel enclosure. Then the MN-BRKT3 lets integrators put the MNEC modules inside a colocated APS6A or APS10A booster power supply instead. Furthermore, this approach distributes MNEC functions across cabinets in larger installations.
Installation Notes
The bracket installs on factory-provided mounting points inside the APS cabinet. Then the modules attach via their standard mounting holes. Also, run all interconnect cabling through conduit. Finally, confirm the APS6A or APS10A version is compatible with the bracket revision before ordering – older revisions may require different mounting hardware.
Related Equipment
The MN-BRKT1 (and MN-BRKT1F variant) mounts MNEC modules inside the EST3 control panel enclosure rather than the APS cabinet. In addition, the MN-BRKT3F provides a related mounting option for the MN-FNS Ethernet switch family. Therefore, select the bracket that matches both the host enclosure and the specific MNEC modules being installed.
