The POTTER ASHX-24SMR is a PowerTone® explosion-proof amplified speaker for hazardous locations. First, the unit is rated for NEC Class I, Groups B, C, and D, Division 1 areas. In addition, the NEMA 3 enclosure suits indoor or outdoor mounting.
The speaker operates at 24 VDC polarized for supervised notification circuits. Furthermore, the standby current draw is 0.26 A. The housing is die-cast aluminum, while the cone and projector are spun aluminum. As a result, the unit resists corrosion in chemical and marine environments.
POTTER ASHX-24SMR tone and audio options
Use the field-replaceable U-TC universal tone card for single-tone applications. Also, the U-TC selects from 10 NFPA-coded tones. Specifically, options include Wail, Yelp, Hi-Lo, Bell, Yeow, Steady Horn, Beep, Stutter, Slow Whoop, and Temporal Slow Whoop.
For voice-evac systems, order the PTCK25 or PTCK70 connector card separately. Then the ASHX-24SMR connects to any compatible 25 or 70 Vrms audio system. In addition, an internal gain control allows local volume adjustment.
Compliance
The ASHX-24SMR is UL Listed for fire alarm signaling use. Furthermore, the operating temperature range is -40°F to 151°F. The speaker is finished in red enamel and ships with stainless steel mounting hardware.
