The Protectowire PWTX-200 is a 200-foot thermocouple grade extension cable. First, it extends the wiring between a Protectowire thermocouple sensing element and its controller. Also, it ships as a single 200-foot (60 m) coil.
This cable carries the low-level signal from the sensing element. Therefore, it preserves measurement accuracy over long runs. In addition, it is intended for non-classified hazard locations only.
Protectowire PWTX-200 construction
First, the cable uses a 2-conductor, 20 AWG solid Type “TX” thermocouple twisted pair. Specifically, a red constantan conductor pairs with a blue copper conductor. As a result, polarity stays clear during installation.
An FEP Teflon outer jacket protects the conductors. Therefore, it resists UV, corrosion, and weather. Also, the cable carries a wide temperature rating from -90°F to 400°F.
