The Edwards SIGA-CC2 is the Dual Input Signal Module from the Signature Series. It is an analog addressable device that selects one of two supervised output circuits (riser 1 or riser 2). Specifically, the SIGA-CC2 acts as a riser selector that connects the chosen output to either 24 VDC notification power or 25/70 VRMS audio evacuation power.
How the Edwards SIGA-CC2 works
First, the loop controller commands the module to connect its output to either riser 1 or riser 2. Then the module routes the selected riser through to the output circuit, which feeds notification appliances downstream. In addition, each output circuit is monitored for opens and shorts; on a short, the control panel inhibits the riser from connecting to the wiring fault.
Important note on riser supervision
The SIGA-CC2 does NOT provide supervision of the riser itself; the fire alarm panel must perform that function. Furthermore, the module requires two device addresses on the Signature loop. It is factory-assigned personality code 7, which configures the module as a one-of-two output Signal Power or Audio Evacuation Riser Selector.
Electrical specifications
Operating voltage range: 15.2 to 19.95 VDC. Standby current: 223 µA. Output rating: 24 VDC at 2 A, 25 V audio at 50 W, or 70 V audio at 35 W. EOL resistor value: 47K, UL/ULC listed. Maximum circuit capacitance: 0.1 µF.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts in a North American 2-1/2 in deep 2-gang box, a standard 4 in square 1-1/2 in deep box, or a European 100 mm square box. Terminals accept 14, 16, or 18 AWG wire; 16 and 18 preferred. Construction is high-impact polymer.
Application notes
If the output drives bells or horns, install an Edwards Bi-Polar Transient Protector P/N 235196P, and keep bells/horns at least 6 ft (1.83 m) from the module.
