The Simplex 166-228 is the 34-inch, 26-conductor ribbon cable used inside Simplex 4100 Series fire alarm panels and annunciators.
First, this cable carries signals between the control card and the panel’s annunciator or display modules. Then it provides the standard 26-pin connection that the 4100 architecture expects. Therefore, it is a direct OEM replacement when an existing ribbon fails or shows damage.
Where the Simplex 166-228 Is Used
This 34-inch length serves panels and annunciator backboxes where the original ribbon needs to reach roughly that distance. For longer runs, use the matching 56-inch ribbon (166-229). For shorter runs, use a shorter part from the same family.
