The Simplex 4098-9774 is the black-finish version of the TrueAlarm analog addressable photoelectric smoke sensor for IDNet and MAPNET II fire alarm systems. The 4098-9774 uses a pulsed infrared LED light source and silicon photodiode receiver to provide analog smoke measurements digitally transmitted to the host fire alarm control panel every four seconds. Seven sensitivity levels are selectable at the panel, ranging from 0.2% to 3.7% per foot of smoke obscuration. Sensitivities of 0.2%, 0.5%, and 1.0% are for special applications in clean areas; standard sensitivities are 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.5%, 3.0%, and 3.7%. The sensor operates from 32° to 122°F (0° to 50°C) UL listed range; air velocity rating is 0–4,000 ft/min (0–1,220 m/min). The 4098-9774 is UL 268 and ULC-S529 listed; CSFM listed; FM Approved; MEA (NYC) accepted. The 4098-9774 sensor head provides 360° smoke entry. Sensor dimensions: 4-7/8″ (124 mm) diameter × 2-1/8″ (54 mm) height. This is a commercial sensor; it will only function with a Simplex fire alarm system and will NOT operate as a stand-alone detector.
