The Simplex 4099-9805 is a no-grip actuator retrofit kit for Simplex pull stations. First, it converts an installed single-action pull station to the no-grip lever style. Then, the lever operates with one hand and a flat-palm push. As a result, the converted station meets ADA and California Title 24 accessibility requirements.
Simplex 4099-9805 Compliance Context
California Building Code Title 24 requires that controls operate without tight grasping, pinching, or wrist twisting. Specifically, the standard 4099 lever requires a pull-down grip. In addition, the 4099-9021 no-grip station replaces that motion with a flat-palm push. Therefore, the 4099-9805 retrofit kit upgrades existing 4099 stations to the no-grip operating style.
What’s in the Kit
The 4099-9805 supplies the actuator components needed for a field conversion. Furthermore, the kit does not include a new station body. As a result, the retrofit reuses the existing 4099 station body and its installed wiring.
Installation Reference
Follow Simplex Installation Instructions 579-1007 for the conversion sequence. Then, test the converted station per the panel’s commissioning procedure. Also, document the change in the site record for the next NFPA 72 inspection.
