The Genesis 46025504 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor solid shielded power-limited fire alarm plenum cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries the triple-rated FPLP, CL3P, and CMP plenum listings. In addition, an aluminum-foil shield with a tinned-copper drain wire rejects EMI on the circuit. As a result, this cable suits initiating device circuits routed near high-current electrical paths.
Genesis 46025504 Specifications
The construction features 18 AWG solid bare copper conductors with insulation, an overall foil shield, and a 24 AWG tinned-copper drain wire. Furthermore, the cable is rated for 300 volts maximum. Also, the low-smoke PVC plenum jacket is red for clear fire alarm circuit identification. The cable ships in a 500-foot REELEX pull box.

Installation Notes for Genesis 46025504
First, the FPLP plenum rating allows install in plenum, riser, and general spaces. Therefore, this cable can substitute for an FPLR riser cable but not vice versa. Then, ground the shield drain wire at one end only. As a result, single-end grounding prevents ground-loop currents on the circuit. However, the jacket is plenum PVC, not LSZH.
