The Eaton ELSTRC is a Wheelock Eluxa LED strobe in a red, ceiling-mount, 24V configuration. It provides visual notification for fire alarm and emergency communication systems.
Eaton ELSTRC Candela Range
First, the strobe is field-selectable across six candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, and 177 cd. Then, the technician dials in the candela value at install time. As a result, one part number covers a broad range of room sizes and coverage area requirements.
Construction and Mounting
The ELSTRC mounts to a ceiling using standard fire-alarm mounting hardware. In addition, the red lens identifies the device as a fire-protective signal. Furthermore, the Eluxa LED light engine draws less current than legacy xenon strobes at the same candela rating.
Synchronization
The Eluxa family is compatible with Wheelock sync protocol drivers. Therefore, multiple strobes can be synchronized to flash together — required by NFPA 72 in rooms with more than two strobes visible.
Application Notes
This is an indoor, ceiling-mount, red-lens fire strobe. However, do not substitute the ELSTRC for outdoor-rated or wall-mount Eluxa variants — those are separate model numbers in the Eluxa family. Always confirm the candela setting matches the room’s notification design before energizing.
