The Altronix OLS120D2X is a dual-output, universal-input off-line switching power supply and charger. Specifically, it converts 115 or 230VAC mains into a selectable 12 or 24VDC main output plus a fixed 12VDC auxiliary, serving access-control, security, and CCTV system accessories.
First, the OLS120D2X accepts 115VAC at 60 Hz (0.95 A) or 230VAC at 50 Hz (0.6 A). Then, regulated switching electronics produce two independent DC rails. In addition, an integrated charger maintains two 12VDC/7 AH backup batteries inside the cabinet. As a result, the OLS120D2X transitions to standby battery instantaneously on AC loss, keeping connected accessories powered through outages.

Application Scope — Access, Security, and CCTV
However, the OLS120D2X is positioned by Altronix for access-control and security accessories, not for fire protective signaling. Specifically, the manufacturer’s datasheet shows no UL 864 or UL 1481 listing on the dual-output variant. Therefore, do not install the OLS120D2X inside a UL 864 fire-alarm control unit or specify it as a NAC power source. For NAC service, choose a listed Altronix fire-alarm power extender such as the AL842ULADA or FireSwitch108.
