The Potter PAD300-IM isolator module protects an addressable signaling line circuit from short circuits. It isolates a fault so the rest of the loop keeps working. As a result, a single short cannot disable the whole SLC.
This module works only with systems that use the Potter PAD addressable protocol. It does not use a loop address. However, it does draw power from the SLC loop. Therefore, it adds isolation without consuming an address point.
How the PAD300-IM Isolator Module Works
The module watches the SLC loop for a short circuit. When it detects one, it disconnects its outgoing side. Then, the fault stays contained to one segment. Once the short clears, the module restores automatically. A single red LED shows status. Specifically, it lights steadily while a short is present.
- Isolates short circuits on Potter PAD addressable SLC loops
- Keeps the rest of the loop in service during a fault
- Requires no SLC loop address; draws power from the loop
- Red LED lights steadily when a short is detected
- Restores automatically once the short is removed
- Mounts on a 2-1/2″ deep 2-gang box or 1-1/2″ deep 4″ square box
