The Potter Electric Signal IDC-6 is an Initiating Device Circuit expander module for Potter fire alarm panels. First, it adds six supervised input circuits per module to the host panel. As a result, integrators expand zone capacity on IPA Series, AFC/ARC Series, and PFC-4064 control panels. Furthermore, a single panel supports up to thirty-one IDC-6 modules.
Potter Electric Signal IDC-6 circuit capabilities
Every input circuit is power-limited and fully supervised. In addition, all six inputs accept 2-wire smoke detectors when installed per NFPA 72. Specifically, inputs also handle automatic, manual, waterflow, or supervisory service. Therefore, the IDC-6 covers most conventional initiating device types on the same module.
The IDC-6 communicates with the host panel via the P-Link RS-485 bus. Furthermore, the connection is power-limited and supervised end-to-end.

Mounting and wiring
The IDC-6 mounts on the included Stacker Bracket. First, install the bracket in a compatible fire alarm panel cabinet. Alternatively, mount it in a PSN-1000 power supply or an AE-2, AE-8, or AE-14 expander cabinet. However, the maximum P-Link wire length to the host panel is 20 feet.
The module supports Class A or Class B P-Link and IDC power wiring. Specifically, each IDC input uses a 5.1 kΩ end-of-line resistor. As a result, integrators must order Potter part 3005013 for proper supervision.
